A Children’s Ceremony, 2023

Director, Designer, Lead Deviser, Flying Leap Productions
Commissioned by The Neighborhood and Temple of the Stranger

A Chilrden’s Ceremony is an immersive, interactive, and mystical theatrical experience for kids, through a co-production of Temple of the Stranger and The Neighborhood, and created with Flying Leap Productions, a New York-based theater company specializing in experimental immersive theater for children and their caregivers.

With a dreamy atmosphere, intentional materiality, participatory activities, shadow play, a dance party, and opportunities for our young audiences to make new friends, this is not your bubby’s Friday night! A Children’s Ceremony combines ancient wisdoms and new technologies to create an exciting and magical perspective on Jewish life and community for children aged 6-10, with performance assistant roles for bigger kids (ages 11-14) to get involved too. (Children under 6 were welcome with a companion adult.)
